Who we are
EightPX is a consulting practice for owner-run businesses. These terms cover the Gap Report: the seven questions, the free first look, the full report you can buy, and your account. By using it you agree to them. If something here doesn’t make sense, write to us before you pay.
The first look
Free. Answer the questions and it appears straight away. One per email address. We’ll email you about your map, and nothing else. It’s built automatically from your answers, your website and public information about your business, and it may be wrong.
Who can buy
The full report is for a business’s owner, or someone the owner has asked to do it, and you confirm that at checkout. We check it, by your email address being on the business’s own website or by asking you, and your report and any front-door test wait until we have. If it turns out you’re not the owner and they didn’t ask you, we refund you in full and stop the report. If you’re a customer of the business, your first look is yours to keep, and the full report isn’t for sale.
The full Gap Report
$495, paid by card to unlock, plus sales tax where it applies. We only take payment once your answers give us what we need to build it. It covers one type of customer. We check it and deliver it to your account within three business days of payment.
Payments aren’t refundable, except when we stop a report because the buyer isn’t the owner (see “Who can buy”). You see your first look before you pay, and that is the guarantee. See the refund policy.
What the report is, and isn’t
It’s our considered view of where your customers fall through the gaps, and what that’s likely costing you. Every fact is marked as something you told us, something we saw, or our estimate. Estimates are estimates. The report isn’t legal, financial or tax advice, and we don’t promise any result from acting on it.
Corrections and the free rerun
Correct anything, or change your answers, for 30 days after delivery. Within those 30 days we’ll rerun your report once, free, with your corrections and any files you’ve added. Changes are for the type of customer you mapped. A different type of customer is a second map, at the price shown.
The front-door test
If you tick “Test my front door” at checkout, you ask us to try your business the way a customer would, once, within the delivery window: we send one inquiry through your website’s form or to the email address on your site, from an EightPX test address, and we place one call to your business number outside business hours. You confirm you’re allowed to ask for this for your business.
We note only when a person first replies to the inquiry, whether the call was answered, how long it rang, and whether a person, a voicemail or a recording picked up. We never record, listen to or transcribe a call. If a person answers, they hear a short message saying it’s an automatic check of the line, set up by the business. When someone replies to the inquiry, we send one short note so nobody spends time following up. The test isn’t required, and the report says if it wasn’t run.
The credit
The $495 you pay for your report comes off one project of $2,500 or more that you agree to within 30 days of your report landing. It doesn’t apply to calls, add-ons, a second map or monthly plans. One credit per business. It has no cash value, can’t be transferred, and ends on the date shown in your account.
Add-ons and calls
The Boardroom pack ($295) is made by hand from your map and lands after your report. A second type of customer is $295 at checkout, $395 later. Calls are paid when you book; move one once, free, 48 hours or more ahead. Calls aren’t refundable.
Your account
You sign in with a link we email you. There’s no password. Keep your email account secure: anyone who can open your email can open your reports. Your reports stay in your account while it’s open. You can ask us to close it and delete your information at any time.
Your information
Your answers and files are used for your report and nothing else. We never share or sell them. How we handle information, including what we read from public sources and from Google, is in our privacy policy.
Ownership
The report is yours to use and share inside your business and with anyone who helps you run it. The way we make it, the design of the map and this site stay ours. Don’t resell the report or present it as your own work.
Liability
We do the work with care, but we can’t be responsible for decisions you make with it. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for anything to do with the Gap Report is limited to what you paid us for it. Nothing here limits rights you have that the law says can’t be limited.
Changes and the law
We may update these terms. The version in place when you paid applies to that purchase. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. If we disagree about something, we’ll try to sort it out by talking first: write to matt@eightpx.com.
